Protecting your connectionsPremium economy and business on long-haul air ticketsWho we areHow the booking process worksImportant informationFAQsCheap international air tickets usually come from flexible dates, a one-stop route through a major hub, and booking two to six months ahead. Airfinns compares routings across airlines and alliances, then checks baggage, connection time and transit documents on the itinerary before you pay.
Why the connecting airport changes the price
On long-haul routes, the cheapest air ticket often depends on where you connect, not just which airline you fly. A trip from Chicago to Delhi can route through Europe, the Gulf or East Asia, and each connecting hub is served by different airlines with different fares on the same day.
Airfinns searches routings through multiple hubs at once. Our results show the connection airport and the layover length on every option, so you can weigh a lower fare against a longer journey.
Visiting friends and relatives: tips from our desk
- Baggage first. Family trips often mean gifts and extra luggage. Long-haul economy tickets commonly include one or two checked bags, but not all fares do. Compare the allowance as carefully as the price.
- Festival dates fill early. Fares around Diwali, Christmas, Lunar New Year, Eid and summer school holidays rise as the lower booking classes sell. Book these dates first.
- Consider open-jaw tickets. Flying into one city and home from another can save a domestic connection overseas. Call our desk to price it.
- Older travellers. Wheelchair assistance and special meals are requested through the airline; we add the request to your booking and confirm it has been received.
Documents to check before buying an international air ticket
| Document | What to check |
|---|---|
| Passport | Many countries require validity of six months beyond your arrival or departure date, and blank pages for stamps. |
| Visa or eVisa | Required by many destinations for US citizens and for non-US passport holders. Apply before you travel. |
| Transit visa | Some connection countries require a transit visa even if you stay airside. We flag routes where this is common. |
| Travel authorisations | Electronic authorisations, such as the UK ETA or Canada eTA, are required for certain nationalities even for transit. |
| Green card or US visa | Non-US citizens returning to the US must carry their valid US residence or visa document. |
Entry rules are set by each government and change. Always confirm with the official government source for your nationality. Airfinns does not issue visas.

One ticket or two? Protecting your connections
When all your flights are on one ticket, the airline is responsible for getting you to your destination if a delay causes a missed connection, and your bags are usually checked through. When a trip is built from two separate tickets to save money, a delay on the first ticket is not the second airline's problem.
Airfinns prefers single-ticket itineraries. If a split-ticket option is significantly cheaper, our agents will explain the risk and suggest a safe buffer between flights before you decide.
Premium economy and business on long-haul air tickets
On flights of eight hours or more, the difference between cabins is substantial. Premium economy typically offers more legroom, a wider seat and a larger baggage allowance; business class usually offers a lie-flat seat on long-haul routes. Fare differences vary widely by date and airline. Search with the cabin set to Premium Economy or Business, or call +1 (888) 307-6252 and ask our desk to compare mixed-cabin options — for example, business on the overnight leg and economy on the short connection.
Who we are
Airfinns (airfinns.com) is an independent online travel agency owned and operated by VJS Travel LLC. We provide flight booking services through two channels: a self-service website and an assisted booking desk by phone.
We are not an airline. We do not own or operate flights and we have no affiliation with any airline. Our role is to search the fares airlines make available to travel agencies, help you choose, and process the booking and any later changes on your behalf.
Our Terms, Privacy, Refund, Cancellation and Service Fee policies are linked from every page, so the basis on which we operate can be read in full before anything is booked. Whether you book online or by phone, payment is taken only on our own secure systems, and every ticket comes with an airline booking reference you can verify directly with the airline.
